The Citadelle Maple Syrup Producers' Cooperative is adding the transformation of cranberries to its agrifood business repertoire with the acquisition of La Maison Bergevin Inc.

Located in Quebec City and in business since 1999, La Maison Bergevin Inc. transforms 8 million pounds of cranberries annually into high end, 100% natural products, 95% of which are sold in niche markets internationally.

Cranberries are well known around the world for their health benefits, mostly due to their proanthocyanidin content, a powerful antioxidant that sets them apart from other berries. This explains the increasing popularity of cranberries among health-conscious consumers. Moreover, worldwide demand for cranberries is growing.
