27 Apr 2010Citadelle receives the 2010 Canada Brand Business award
Plessisville, April 27, 2010 – As part of SIAL CANADA 2010, the North American Food Marketplace international tradeshow, Agri-Food Export Group Quebec-Canada presented the 2010 CANADA BRAND BUSINESS AWARD to Citadelle Maple Syrup Producers’ Cooperative at the 4th edition of the Canadian Agri-Food Export Gala held at Montreal’s Palais des congrès convention center.
The 2010 Canada Brand Business award recognizes the success of an agrifood company that has distinguished itself on the international scene. The award also aims to salute the efforts of a Canadian business that has upheld the promise of excellence embodied in the Canada Brand, symbolized by the maple leaf, by exporting premium quality products that are healthy, pure, and natural, and backed by impeccable customer service.
With over 400 members, Agri-Food Export Group Quebec-Canada is the largest Canadian association of agrifood exporters.
At the Gala, Citadelle was one of four finalists for the 2010 Canadian Export Business award, which highlights the excellence of an agrifood company that distinguished itself in export markets in 2009. This award aims to hail the creativity and drive of Canadian agrifood businesses that export their products abroad.
What’s more, Citadelle’s all-new ginger maple butter was among 10 finalists in the Trends & Innovations contest. Competition was steep, with more than 50 products vying for the top honors. Winners were chosen based on various selection criteria, and Citadelle’s ginger maple butter qualified under the “Innovation” criteria, reflecting its use of original ingredients to create an avant-garde dimension and added value. In addition to presenting exhibitors’ new products, the event showcased North American and international agrifood trends.
